Open to all
Our weekly service (Sunday) and meeting (Wednesday) are open to all. They are simple, uplifting occasions. Lasting up to an hour. They are easy to follow and there are no rituals or ceremonies.
You are welcome to come along and we promise not to pressure you or try to convert you or, if you prefer, you can join us by phone.
We have a weekly Sunday School for young people up to 20. There is also a nursery where we will take care of very young children while you attend our Sunday service.

Sunday Service
Our church is run by its members for the benefit of the community and the world. Our Sunday Service at 10.30am is very simple in format, easy to follow and inclusive.
We do not have ministers or priests. Our services are centred on the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. The services are conducted by two readers who are elected from our church membership and read a weekly Bible lesson consisting of 26 subjects repeated twice a year.
The format of the service is a follows:
|
You are welcome to stay and chat with other members of the congregation, some of whom will probably be visitors like you, or leave quickly.
The Lords Prayer
In our services we use the Lord’s Prayer given in the Gospel of Matthew (Chapter 6 verses 6-13).
Meet our pastorChristian Science churches are unusual in that they do not have personal ministers or pastors. Instead we have two books at the heart of our services and citations from them are read aloud to give a direct link to Biblical truths and their spiritual interpretation.
These books, The Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy help lift the listeners' thought from personal opinions to God-given truths. To us, they open a direct channel to healing.

Wednesday meeting
We hold a meeting each Wednesday to which you will be very welcome. It usually lasts between 45 mins and an hour and includes an opportunity for members of the congregation to share their healings and inspiration (don’t worry you are not under any pressure to speak).
The meeting starts with a hymn, is followed by readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook read by the First Reader, a short period of silent prayer and the Lord’s Prayer, another hymn and then, a period for testimonies from anyone who wishes to speak. The meeting closes with a hymn.
Remember you can join any of our meetings by phone and some are streamed live.
Our Wednesday meetings are held at 7.30pm most weeks, and is currently online or Zoom. On the first Wednesday of each month it is held at 1pm in our Reading Room on the ground floor of our building. A video recording is also played online and via Zoom at 7.30pm.
Have you got a testimony to share?
From time to time, we hear from people who, for one reason or another, cannot get to a service or meeting but would still like to share their healings and inspiration. If you have something you would like to share, why not email or post your thoughts to us for the First Reader to share with the rest of the congregation? Either send it by post to the church or email to us here.
