An open door to spirituality

Our Christian Science Reading Room is open most days. You can come in and browse the books, magazines, CDs and other materials and talk to the person on duty to discover more about Christian Science. You can also sit and read or use our computer to find Bible and spiritual resources online.

Would you like to find out more about Christian Science and its distinctive teachings and practical demonstration? Why not drop in to the Reading Room for a chat. Our normal opening hours are Monday, Tuesday andWednesday 8am to 2pm; Thursday and Friday, 10am to 4pm.

Textbook for life

The Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy is the core of Christian Science teaching. 
Of its 700 pages the last 100 are devoted to letters from people who have been healed simply by reading the book.
The book is designed for thoughtful reading and study. Over the years more than 10 million copies have been sold worldwide.
You can buy or borrow a copy in the Reading Room.

Bible Study

The Bible is at the heart of Christian Science. Our aim is to study and understand its spiritual meaning and relevance a little better every day.
We sell Bibles, Bible study aids and children’s books based on the Bible. ​​Our main translation is the King James version but we also sell a few other editions, including the Parallel Bible, which shows the text of four versions alongside each other.

The harmony of music

If you like music you will love our collection of musical CDs. They cater for a wide range of tastes but all express the healing harmony of music.

Kids’ Corner

We have a good selection of children’s books and some magazines too. 
They are brilliant for helping young ones get to grips with the vital messages of the Bible, including the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes as well as Bible heroes like Moses, King David and, of course, Jesus.
