A century of service
Our two previous churches on our site.
Christian Science has been known in Reading for over 100 years. The first Christian Science services were held in the first decade of the 1900s and there were at that time two Christian Science practitioners residing in or near the town available to support anyone wishing to obtain healing through spiritual means alone.
The present Christian Science building is the third on the site, which was acquired in the 1920s. It was completed in 2008. It contains a Christian Science Reading Room and bookshop, an auditorium and Sunday School room together with other facilities. Apart from our regular services and meetings rooms are available for hire to outside groups.
